Anthony C. Pietrangelo, who started the firm in 1997 and serves as its managing partner, was born in Staten Island, New York, in 1967. He was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 1992. He graduated from Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated cum laude from Rhodes College in Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1989. While at Rhodes, he earned the Abe Fortas Legal Studies Award and the Mike Cody Leadership Award and was ranked as one of the top “Attorneys” in the country at the 1989 National Mock Trial Competition. He was a four year varsity soccer letterman, Team Captain, MVP, and All-Conference. Mr. Pietrangelo attained his Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1992. While at Vanderbilt, he was the two-time champion of the Vanderbilt Mock Trial Competition. His practice areas include business and commercial litigation and intellectual property protection and litigation. Mr. Pietrangelo and his wife, Kendi, have seven children. Representative matters include: Representation of Memphis Chicks AA baseball team in its relocation from Memphis to Jackson, Tennessee to become the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx. Lead counsel in negotiation of multi-million dollar insurance settlement for chemical manufacturer arising out of catastrophic plant fire and explosion. Co-Lead counsel in defense and settlement upon favorable terms of product liability action filed by Maine blueberry grower against manufacturer and distributor of hexazinone-based pesticide. Co-Lead counsel in representation of citizen’s group in successfully defeating Fayette County fire sprinkler ordinance. Lead trial counsel in defense of homeowner and in obtaining judgment of $137,000 for homeowner on counterclaim against contractor in often cited Tennessee Court of Appeals case which clarified the proper measure of damages between cost of repair and diminution of value for residential cases. GSB Contractors, Inc. v. Hess , 179 S.W.3d 535 (Tenn. Ct. App. 2005), appeal denied, (Oct. 31, 2005). |
